A senior US official indicated that the United States may remove Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) from its list of terrorist organizations. The UK is also considering a similar move, according to British Minister for Intergovernmental Relations, Pat McFadden. HTS, which helped overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has been labeled as a terrorist organization by several nations, including the US and the UN. HTS leader Abu Mohammed al-Julani has denied the terrorist classification, calling it politically motivated.
