Preliminary Investigation Launched After Train Derailment in Pelion, Greece
A train carriage from the Pelion scenic railway, known as ‘Moutzouris’, derailed last Saturday. The chief prosecutor in Volos ordered a preliminary investigation into potential dangerous interference with rail transport resulting in risks to public safety. The investigation will focus on examining the cause of the derailment, which is believed to have been caused by a rock falling onto the tracks. Fortunately, all 37 passengers on board were unharmed, and immediate actions were taken to ensure their safety.
