The President of the Polish Parliament, Szymon Hołownia, announced that the presidential elections will be held on May 18. The pro-European governing coalition hopes to secure a victory with their candidate, succeeding the outgoing conservative President Andrzej Duda. If a runoff is necessary, it will take place on June 1.
