Pro-Russian Hackers Target French Municipal Websites in New Year Cyberattacks
Pro-Russian hackers from the group Noname have launched a series of cyberattacks on French municipal and regional sites, including those in Nice and Marseille. The impacts are reported to be limited, with several sites still offline. The attacks, which are characterized as denial-of-service attacks, flood websites with excessive connections to cause disruptions without data theft. An investigation has been initiated by the Paris prosecutor’s office, and similar attacks had previously targeted the French Parliament in response to the country’s support for Ukraine.
