The Metropolitan Police have submitted a file of evidence to prosecutors about sexual abuse allegations against former BBC DJ Tim Westwood. Following a joint investigation by BBC News and the Guardian, multiple women accused Westwood of predatory behavior spanning from 1992 to 2017. Now under scrutiny, the investigation has been called ‘complex and sensitive’ with efforts to maintain victim confidence. Westwood, who has denied the allegations, previously stepped down from his position at Capital Xtra in April 2022 after revelations about his conduct came to light. The BBC has also commissioned a review regarding Westwood’s employment history.
