Residents and students from multiple villages in the Evros region of Greece gathered to protest against the potential dissolution of the Seventh Brigade stationed in Provatonas. Local officials, including Deputy Mayor Dimitris Darousis, expressed concerns that the closure would lead to the departure of over 100 military personnel, negatively impacting the community which has relied on the brigade for 25 years.
