On December 11, 2024, a protest will take place in Athens in front of the Ministry of Energy regarding the 4th lignite unit and the DEI Megalopolis mines. Organized by the Megalopolis Committee of Entities, the demonstration aims to gather support from private sector employees. Additionally, a protest is planned for December 16 at the Regional Council of Peloponnese in Tripoli. The protests are in response to the impending closure of the lignite unit and mines by the end of the year unless legislative measures provide an extension.
