Public sector workers in France are gearing up for a day of action and strike in response to the recent censure motions against the government. The FSU-SNUIpp union reports that nearly 65% of primary school teachers are expected to join the strike. The government’s plan to tackle absenteeism among public employees, aimed at savings of 1.2 billion euros, has strained relations with unions, which are protesting against deteriorating working conditions and declining pay.
