Engineers at Corsewall Lighthouse in Scotland made a historic find when they discovered a 132-year-old bottle containing a message dated September 4, 1892. The letter, written by engineers who installed a new lantern, reveals their names and those of the lighthouse keepers. Found by Northern Lighthouse Board engineer Ross Russell during a maintenance inspection, retrieving the bottle required careful handling. The discovery has deep historical significance, allowing current workers to connect with their predecessors. The bottle and letter are now preserved at the Northern Lighthouse Board’s headquarters, with plans for a future replacement.
