Rediscovering Garcilaso de la Vega: A New Literary Journey

In ‘La edad imperfecta’, journalist Agustín Alonso invites readers into the tumultuous life of Garcilaso de la Vega, a poetic figure from Spain’s Golden Age. After five years of meticulous research, Alonso crafts a fictional narrative that explores the poet’s wars, exiles, and loves, set against the backdrop of a divided 16th-century Spain. The author focuses on the human experience, drawing parallels between Garcilaso and political tensions of the era, while presenting a duality between art and politics through the lens of competing brothers. Alonso will be signing copies of his novel at the Madrid Book Fair.
