On December 3, 2023, Christodoulos Topidis, the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, visited Kavala to discuss ongoing and planned development projects. He met with local fishery representatives to address existing challenges and explore opportunities for growth. A study is being initiated to enhance port facilities with eight new technical projects aimed at boosting this significant production unit.
