Regional Train Fire in Berlin: Passengers Evacuated Safely
A regional train at Ahrensfelde station on the Berlin-Brandenburg border caught fire on Saturday night, but all passengers managed to evacuate safely. The blaze, which fully engulfed the diesel train, was reported when smoke was noticed by the train driver. Firefighters battled the flames for several hours, with no injuries reported. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, led by the Berlin police’s arson unit. The incident caused temporary closure of the station, but other train services remained operational. A thorough examination of the wreckage will be conducted by the Federal Authority for Railway Accident Investigation.
