Remco Evenepoel Injured in Bike Crash During Training in Belgium
Double Olympic champion Remco Evenepoel was hospitalized after suffering multiple fractures in a bike crash in Oetingen, Belgium. The 24-year-old collided with an open door of a postal vehicle, sustaining injuries to his rib, shoulder blade, and hand. Despite the severity of the crash, Evenepoel was conscious afterward and communicated with his family. His team, Soudal-Quick Step, confirmed the injuries and the damage to his bike, which broke in two. Evenepoel, who won gold in the men’s road race and time trial in Paris 2024, previously overcame a significant injury in 2020.
