Renowned French Composer Charles Dumont Dies at 95

Charles Dumont, the acclaimed composer behind the iconic song ‘Non, je ne regrette rien’ and a close collaborator of Edith Piaf, has passed away at the age of 95 after a prolonged illness. Dumont’s career took off in the 1960s when Piaf first performed one of his compositions. He also worked with other notable artists like Dalida and Barbra Streisand. His music has left an indelible mark on French chanson, with numerous hits to his credit. The French Culture Minister paid tribute to him as a ‘sacred monster of French song.’
