The Greek Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy has announced the replacement of the ferry ‘SAONISOS’, which suffered a mechanical failure off the coast of Rhodes just before New Year’s. The ferry ‘STAYROS’ will take over the route for a month. Local mayors from small islands in the northern Dodecanese are outraged by the continuous malfunctions of ‘SAONISOS’, calling for its removal and denouncing the ministry for its negligence.
