Research Team Completes Pollution Study Along Corinthian Coastlines
The environmental organization OZONE has completed a comprehensive 650-kilometer study of pollution along the Corinthian Gulf coastlines, titled ‘Corinthian Gulf – Time for Action.’ The executive director, Tasos Filipidis, announced that the research, which began in June and finished last month, documented significant pollution along 550 difficult-to-access beaches, with 30% in poor condition. Over 15,000 photographs were taken, revealing illegal dumping sites and debris accumulation. The findings will be shared with relevant authorities to address pollution sources, alongside community awareness initiatives.
