Return of Syrian Refugees from Jordan Increases Following Assad’s Regime Fall
Approximately 18,000 Syrians have returned to their home country from Jordan since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on December 8, 2024. The Jordanian Interior Minister, Mazen Al-Faraya, reported that among these, around 2,300 refugees were registered with the United Nations. Jordan currently hosts about 680,000 registered Syrian refugees, with estimates suggesting it has accepted around 1.3 million displaced individuals since the beginning of the Syrian war in 2011.
