In Gorgogiri Trikala, men donned in sheepskin cloaks and masks celebrated the Kallikantzaroi custom on New Year’s Day, ringing large bells to scare away evil spirits. Following the New Year’s service, the bell-ringers visited homes, where residents welcomed them with treats, believing their presence brings good luck.
