The Hematology Department of Papageorgiou Hospital remains at the forefront of medical innovation, celebrating 40 years of achievements. Since 1985, the department has conducted over 2,500 stem cell transplants, and in 2024, it initiated the production of autologous in-house CAR-T cell therapies. Future plans include the establishment of a Center of Expertise for Endothelial Damage Syndromes and the construction of a new facility for cellular and gene therapies, set to open in 2025. A notable international workshop on Endothelial Syndromes attracted over 300 participants.
