Rising Rents in Ireland: National Average Hits €1,955 Amid Supply Shortages

According to Daft.ie, advertised rents in Ireland rose by 1.7% from July to September, marking the 15th consecutive quarterly increase. The average monthly rent is now €1,955, a 7.2% rise from a year ago. In Dublin, rents increased by 5.2%, influenced by a decline in rental home construction. Nationwide, the availability of rental properties fell by 14% year-on-year, intensifying price pressure. Notably, Cork and Limerick experienced even sharper rent hikes of 10.4% and 19.2%, respectively. Experts urge a focus on increasing private rental housing supply to stabilize the market.
