In December 2024, traffic accidents in Central Macedonia were primarily attributed to excessive speed, drunk driving, and driver distraction. The General Regional Police Directorate reported a decrease in fatal accidents and overall casualties compared to December 2023. A total of 21 traffic accidents were recorded, with four fatalities. Traffic violations led to over 13,000 citations, including a significant number for speeding and the use of mobile phones while driving.
