The Romanian Constitutional Court has declared the annulment of the results from the first round of the presidential elections, necessitating a complete redo of the electoral process due to suspicions of Russian interference. The ruling comes just days before the scheduled second round of voting. Far-right candidate Călin Georgescu surprised many by leading in the first round, facing off against center-right candidate Elena Lascu. Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu supported the court’s decision, citing evidence of foreign involvement.
