Roskilmanor Wren Boys Keep Irish Mummer Tradition Alive This Christmas
The Roskilmanor Wren Boys, an Irish group founded in 1982, are carrying on the traditional mummers’ custom in northwest Leitrim this Christmas. The group performs local Leitrim dances and raises funds for charity, having collected over €160,000 since their inception. Founding members express the importance of preserving cultural traditions, while new members from various backgrounds celebrate the community spirit through music and dance. Their performances will begin on St Stephen’s night.
