Russia has reportedly attacked Ukraine with an intercontinental missile for the first time since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022. The missile targeted the city of Dnipro as a reaction to Ukrainian strikes deep into Russian territory. Ukrainian officials confirmed two injuries and damage to infrastructure. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a new missile type was used, though it was confirmed not to carry a nuclear warhead. This escalation occurs amidst heightened tensions following the U.S.’s approval for Ukraine to use long-range weapons against Russian targets.
