Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow intends to develop its own medium-range ballistic missile system, designated ‘Oresnik’, in Belarus by the second half of 2025. This statement followed a request from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during a summit in Minsk. The deployment aims to have Belarus define the missile’s targets. Putin also highlighted a recent operational test of the ‘Oresnik’ missile that struck the Ukrainian city of Dnipro last month.
