The Russian cargo ship Ursa Major sank in the Mediterranean Sea due to what is being described as a terrorist attack, according to the ship’s owning company, Oboronloguistika. The incident, which occurred between Spain and Algeria, left two crew members missing out of a total of 16 on board. The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed the ship suffered severe explosions prior to sinking. An investigation has been launched for potential violations of maritime safety rules, while the Russian Foreign Ministry previously reported an explosion in the ship’s engine room.
