Samos Tourism: Steps Toward Sustainable Development and Infrastructure Improvement
The president of the Samos Hoteliers Association, Manos Valis, highlighted a new study aimed at the island’s sustainable development by 2030, calling for community input. Valis noted ongoing tourism challenges, notably a lack of accommodation, especially amid increased Turkish visitor numbers. The assurance of a continued favorable visa policy for Turkish travelers into 2025 has provided optimism for local tourism stakeholders. Furthermore, positive projections for European tourism participation were reported, with pre-bookings showing a potential rise of up to 25%. This year has marked a significant rebound in arrivals, the best in a decade.
