Saudi Arabia Resumes Diplomatic Activities in Kabul After Three Years

Saudi Arabia has announced the resumption of its diplomatic mission in Kabul, Afghanistan, starting December 22, 2024, after withdrawing diplomats amid chaos following the Taliban’s return to power. The Saudi embassy indicated that this decision stems from the desire to provide services to the Afghan people. Although the Taliban’s government has not been internationally recognized, Saudi Arabia, previously one of the few nations to recognize the Taliban’s earlier regime, continues to offer humanitarian assistance through its KSRelief center.
