The animal shelter in Schaffhausen has temporarily secured its future after raising 130,000 Swiss francs through donations, addressing urgent financial issues. With around 30 to 40 animals needing care, the shelter strives to recover from a major financial shortfall of 250,000 francs. The transition in leadership sees former National Councilor Martina Munz among the new interim board. However, challenges persist as many shelters across Switzerland confront similar financial difficulties exacerbated by rising operational costs and the impact of COVID-19 on pet ownership.
