School in Nordrhein-Westfalen Closed Due to Mpox Infections
A school in Rösrath, Nordrhein-Westfalen, has been closed after two students tested positive for the Mpox virus. Authorities reported that the infected students are in quarantine with mild symptoms. The infections are believed to have originated from a family trip to East Africa, where a relative contracted the virus. Health officials are monitoring contacts but have found no additional cases so far. Symptoms include skin rashes and general illness but are rarely severe. The World Health Organization has issued a public health emergency notice due to new virus variants becoming more widespread.
