Security Measures for Notre-Dame Cathedral Reopening Announced
The reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral on December 7 and 8 will see around 50 heads of state in attendance, prompting exceptional security measures inspired by the Olympic Games. Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez detailed a plan involving thousands of law enforcement and military personnel due to heightened terrorist threats, with a public participation limit of 3,000 inside the cathedral and 40,000 near the site. A comprehensive security perimeter will restrict access and limit commercial activities on the Île de la Cité during the event.
