Serbian Orthodox Church Celebrates Christmas According to Julian Calendar
The Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) celebrates Christmas today as per the Julian calendar. Patriarch Porfirije emphasized peace and love in his message, particularly noting the challenges faced by Serbs in Kosovo. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić celebrated at the Hilandar Monastery, advocating for justice and hope in a troubled world. Traditional family celebrations include burning an oak branch and cutting a special pie. The holiday is also observed by Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
