Serbian Republic Lawmakers Block Decision-Making to Thwart EU Integration
Lawmakers from the Serbian Republic of Bosnia have instructed their representatives to obstruct decisions necessary for the country’s integration into the European Union. This move follows an extraordinary parliamentary session addressing the ongoing trial of Milorad Dodik, a Serbian secessionist leader. Dodik is facing charges for defying decisions by the international High Representative meant to oversee peace in Bosnia, as stipulated by the Dayton Agreement. The lawmakers claim the trial is politically motivated and based on unconstitutional decisions.
