Sergio Mattarella Highlights Importance of SMEs in Italy’s Economy
During the National Assembly of Confesercenti, Italian President Sergio Mattarella emphasized the critical role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Italian economy. He pointed out that SMEs represent 99% of businesses and account for 70% of total revenue, calling them the backbone of Italy’s economic system. Mattarella noted the significance of business growth as a communal responsibility that enhances societal progress and strengthens the Republic amid challenges such as demographic decline.
