The 3FM Serious Request fundraising event has raised €11,513,485 for children suffering from metabolic diseases, surpassing last year’s effort of over €7.5 million for ALS. The event took place at the Glazen Huis in Zwolle, with DJ’s Barend van Deelen, Sophie Hijlkema, and Wijnand Speelman locked in to raise funds for Metakids. Despite the success, incidents of crowd unrest led to the cancellation of a scheduled performance by Chef’Special. In 2014, the event raised a record €12.3 million for victims of sexual violence in conflict areas.
