Recent flooding in southern Thailand and northern Malaysia has resulted in at least 12 fatalities and the displacement of tens of thousands as severe weather continues to impact the region. In Thailand, approximately 534,000 households have been affected, with a significant number of people taking refuge in temporary shelters. Authorities report that areas in Songkhla province are facing the worst floods in 50 years, while neighboring Malaysia sees nearly 139,000 people impacted, along with further fatalities. Meteorological warnings indicate more heavy rains are expected in the coming days.
