Nearly two weeks after the severe weather event known as ‘BORA,’ its impacts are still evident in Thessaloniki. A large pine tree has crushed an apartment building on Gambetta Street, causing residents to feel tremors reminiscent of an earthquake. Efforts to remove the tree have been hampered by the lack of appropriate fire service vehicles and available private contractors. The fire department is expected to initiate a removal operation later today.
