Severe Winds Disrupt Ferry Services in Northeast Greece

Strong winds reaching up to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea have caused disruptions in ferry services in certain areas of northeastern Greece. The Hellenic Coast Guard reports that the morning ferry from Lavrio to Kea was canceled, along with several journeys in the Argosaronic Gulf due to a captain’s log entry. Sailing prohibitions are also in effect for routes including Volos-Sporades, Kavala-Prinos Thasos, and Alexandroupolis-Samothrace. Travelers are advised to check with local port authorities and travel agencies before departure, although winds are expected to weaken later in the day.
