Severe storms along the US West Coast have resulted in life-threatening conditions, causing at least one death in Santa Cruz, where a part of the pier collapsed. Efforts are underway to locate a man swept into the ocean by extremely high waves. California’s weather service warns of further dangerous conditions, including significant rainfall, potential flooding, and landslides, affecting areas from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
