Two Italian tourists faced a shark attack while snorkeling off the coast of Marsa Alam in Egypt. Gianluca Di Gioia, 48, tragically lost his life, while his companion, Giuseppe Fappani, 69, was injured while attempting to help him. The assault occurred near the luxury Sataya Resort, known for its snorkeling opportunities. Di Gioia was in Egypt celebrating his recent birthday with family when the incident happened, just 50 meters from the dock. Fappani is expected to recover from his injuries soon.
