Sharp Increase in Flu Cases Signals Potential Wave in Germany
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports a significant rise in flu cases in Germany, indicating the onset of a flu wave. Laboratory-confirmed cases have surged from approximately 1,220 in early December to about 4,560 by the end of December. Hospitalizations have also increased, with 27% of patients being admitted for flu-related diagnoses. Additionally, the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) cases have also risen significantly, contributing to several fatalities, primarily among individuals over 60 years of age.
