The recent archaeological excavation at the site of Rypae, near Aigio, has unveiled remarkable findings related to a structure identified as the Heroon of the ancient city. Highlights include architectural elements dating before 300 BC, significant marble sculptures, and valuable grave goods reflecting the social status of the occupants. The project, directed by Dr. Andreas G. Vordos, has received funding from the A.G. Leventis Foundation, with ongoing research expected to provide further insights into the site’s historical significance.
