Small Business Owner Shocked as Temu Copies Card Designs
Anwen Roberts, owner of design company Draenog, expressed her heartbreak upon discovering that her original Welsh language card designs were being sold on the e-commerce platform Temu without permission. After raising the issue, Temu swiftly removed the infringing cards, which closely matched Draenog’s unique creations. This incident highlights the ongoing struggle for small businesses against larger corporations, as many feel powerless in protecting their intellectual property. The UK Intellectual Property Office notes that IP infringement poses significant challenges for businesses, emphasizing the need for better support and dispute resolution mechanisms.
