South Korea to Send Black Box from Fatal Jeju Air Crash to the U.S.
South Korea has decided to send one of the black boxes from the Boeing 737-800 that crashed in Muan, killing 179 out of 181 people onboard, to the United States for analysis. The flight data recorder, which was damaged, will be examined in collaboration with U.S. investigators. Preliminary data from the cockpit voice recorder has already been retrieved. The incident has raised concerns regarding the airport’s architecture, particularly the presence of a concrete wall where the plane crashed during landing.
