South Korea’s Suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol Faces Arrest as Warrant Expires
South Korean authorities are seeking to arrest suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol following the expiration of a warrant initially issued last week. The country’s Anti-Corruption Investigation Office had requested the police to enforce the arrest after multiple failed attempts. Yoon is under investigation for abuse of power related to his temporary declaration of martial law last month during a budget dispute. The Constitutional Court is currently reviewing his impeachment, while interim leadership is being provided by former Finance Minister Choi Sang Mok.
