Southampton FC has parted ways with manager Russell Martin following a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Tottenham, leaving the club nine points from Premier League safety. Martin, who secured promotion for the team last season, faced mounting pressure as Southampton recorded just one win in 16 league matches this season and scored a league-low 11 goals. In the wake of his dismissal, Under-21s manager Simon Rusk has been appointed as interim manager. This decision coincides with Wolverhampton Wanderers also firing their manager, Gary O’Neil.
