In the past 24 hours, 18 soldiers have been killed in a resurgence of violence in northwestern Pakistan, ten of whom were killed in a suicide bombing claimed by factions affiliated with the Taliban. The attacks highlight the ongoing security challenges in the region, with kidnappings and armed assaults also reported. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan has increased its activities since the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan in August 2021.
