Stéphane Haussoulier, president of the Somme department council, has been convicted of embezzlement, fraud, and money laundering, resulting in a three-year suspended prison sentence and a fine of €30,000. The court found him guilty of misappropriating nearly €370,000 over a seven-year period while in various public positions. He also faces three years of ineligibility and is contemplating an appeal against the decision.
