The meeting between Christodoulos Topidis, the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, and Jean-Luc Lavau, the French Consul in Thessaloniki, highlighted the region’s prospects for development focusing on economic relationships, tourism, and cultural initiatives. Lavau reaffirmed France’s interest in the AMTH region and extended an invitation to Topidis to participate in the upcoming Ocean Rise and Coastal Resilience Summit in Nice in June 2025, prior to the UN Conference on Oceans. Both officials underscored the strong state of Greek-French relations.
