The U.S. defense ties with the Republic of Cyprus are being strengthened with a new amendment added to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This amendment allows Cyprus to be included in military training programs for Eastern Europe, enabling the National Guard to participate in multilateral exercises through 2027. The legislation extends the training program for Eastern European security forces’ joint exercises with the U.S. military until 2027.
